Accreditation schemes 

Accreditation to External schemes demonstrates the commitment of the laboratory to provide a Quality Service. Sciantec is accredited under the following schemes:

• (UKAS) - The United Kingdom Accreditation Service has accredited Sciantec to the requirements of ISO 17025:2005 for a range of tests on animal feedingstuffs, raw materials and grain.

• (TASCC) - Sciantec is accredited by the AIC Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops for the analysis of combinable crops

• (GTAS) – The laboratory also holds accreditation by the Grain and Feed Trade Association Trade Assurance Scheme for analysis of grain and feed.

• (DEFRA) – The Microbiology Laboratory holds DEFRA accreditation for the testing of Salmonella, Enterobacteriaceae and Clostridium to the Animal By-Products regulations 2005.

• (MHRA) - Sciantec has been successfully audited by The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency and operate in compliance to GMP requirements for both Chemical and Physical testing in our Animal Health Laboratory. 

Proficiency Testing Schemes

As well as using Internal QC samples to monitor individual batches of analyses and longer term trends in performance, Sciantec participates in a number of external Proficiency testing schemes, namely:

• The Food Analysis and Performance Assessment Scheme (FAPAS)

• The Grain and Feed Trade Association Scheme (GAFTA)

• The Forage Analysis Assurance Scheme (FAA)

• The United Kingdom NIR Grain Network

• The Animal By-Products Regulations 2005 QA Scheme

• The Malt Analytes Proficiency Scheme (MAPS)

• The National Association of British and Irish millers (NABIM)
